At a time when the EPL fixtures are fast becoming a memory, here at Vital Luton Town, we’ve come up with a novel way to keep the front-page rolling.
Yesterday, I came up with a starting eleven that only contained players who had surnames beginning with the letter ‘A’ – luton-town-the-a-xi.
Although the eleven looked a little ropey, it did stimulate some kind of interest.
Subsequently, a regular visitor to Vital Luton, Chris Winter, took time out to provide a starting eleven of players who had surnames beginning with the letter ‘B’ with the eleven looking as thus:
• Ron Baynham
• Jack Bannister
• Terry Branston
• Emerson Boyce
• Tim Breaker
• Alan Birchenall
• Billy Bingham
• Kingsley Black
• Phil Boersma
• Barry Butlin
• Ian Buxton
A team that, truly, carries as Chris put it, hidden gems.
As it turns out, Chris’ eleven contains several of the players I’d selected in my team, a side that I was going to publish this morning and a side that reads as thus:
• Keith Barber
• Steve Buckley
• Leon Barnett
• Terry Branston
• Tim Breaker
• Luke Berry
• Ahmet Brkovic
• Kingsley Black
• Phil Boersma
• Vivian Busby
• Barry Butlin
Now I wonder who’ll get selected for our letter ‘C’ side?
Stay tuned and we’ll see what materialises tomorrow.
