Luton Town – The ‘A’ XI

Last night, for some unknown reason, I struggled to sleep.

Now whether it is the uncertainty that grips the nation at the moment with the COVID-19 pandemic affecting our thoughts, I’m not sure.

But, having heard the sad news that Raddy Antic had passed away, my mind was racing.

Lying on the bed, with the better half fast asleep next to me, for some strange reason I had this fixation of putting together a Hatters XI that contained players whose surname began with the letter ‘A’

Now, I must admit I had to resort to the internet to come up with the names of three players to fill the blanks and the defence doesn’t look to be that good. But, up front, they’d give some defences a torrid time.

So here’s my XI?

• Milija Aleksic

• Graham Alexander
• Raddy Antic
• Ed Asafu-Adjaye
• James Ayres

• Peter Anderson
• Marc Aizlewood
• Lee Angol

• Trevor Aylott
• Adrian Alston
• John Aston

Does anyone fancy doing something similar with another letter of the alphabet?

Indeed, is it possible to do such a thing with the majority of the letters of the alphabet?
