Luton Town – No Time To Unpack The Suitcase For Young Striker

Yesterday we covered the return, off loan, of Joe Taylor, Aribim Pepple and Elliot Thorpe.

Our article, when it came to the future of Joe Taylor – the-perils-of-the-loan-system – suggested that it would only be a matter of days before the young striker would be off on his travels again with the Hatters looking to see if he could replicate the success he had, during the first half of the season while on loan at Colchester United, but at a higher level.

Well it didn’t take long for Luton Town to decide on a club with it being confirmed that Taylor would go out on loan to the League One club, Lincoln City, for the remainder of the 2023/2024 season.

Now whether it turns out to be a good move for Joe remains to be seen.

But, looking at the statistics, Lincoln City sit in 11th place in League One and have scored 29 goals whilst also conceding 29.

When it comes to a leading scorer, in the league, look no further than Daniel Mândroiu who has 5 goals to his name.

When it comes to fan reaction, from the Lincoln City supporters, seem appreciative of Joe heading their way:

Here at Vital Luton Town, we’ll keep an eye on Joe’s progress and we wish him well at Sincil Bank.

hope he plays well at lincoln. am sure we look forward to seeing a much improved striker next year. wonder what will happen with pereira.seems like such a waste. remember all the fuss about signing pepple, with european sides after his services. what happened?.just saying.COYH.

As long as Taylor keeps improving, he is worth keeping; he had pretty humble career beginnings and has made quick progress for his age. Contrast this with Pereira and Muskwe who both started at high profile clubs and have had inauspicious careers despite now being in their mid twenties; these two should be released, there is no evidence that either will be an asset, both look innocuous as forwards. Muskwe in particular to me is a disappointment: on paper he has the attributes of being quick, strong, tall, athletic, talented and professional but it all adds up to a failed product. Reportedly, Ipswich are interested in Woodrow but I still think he is a useful player if he gets back to the levels he has shown at previous clubs and he can drop into the ‘No.10’ role.
