No Squad Number Player Joins Sutton United

I guess not being allocated a squad number, ahead of the 2023/2024 season, is a clear indication as to where your future may lie.

News broke, this lunch time, that Dion Pereira has dropped down into League Two on a season long loan spell, as reported byLuton Today with Sutton United.

The 24-year-old, who made a breakthrough at Luton back in May 2021, struggled to live up to the early hype and since his debut, with the Hatters, has spent spells out on loan at – Yeovil Town and Bradford City (twice).

Indeed, despite all the hype, Dion has, according to the statistics, only made 3 appearances for the Hatters, 1 in the league and 2 in the EFL Cup.

While on loan at Bradford City, in 2022, Dion probably played the best football of his career.

A previous loan spell, at Yeovil Town, in 2021, turned out to be a very brief spell with Dion being recalled, by Luton Town, after he’d made just the single appearance.

Here at Vital Luton Town, we’d like to take this opportunity to wish Dion all the best with Sutton United, but my feeling is that Dion’s Luton career is all but over, is that a view you concur with?
