The results, during midweek, saw the Hatters drop into the relegation places, courtesy of that dramatic injury time goal from Arsenal.
But the magnitude of the performance gives us all hope that Rob Edward’s side can climb the table, a table where the bottom five is as shown below:
Nottingham Forest – 13 points
Everton – 10 points
Luton Town – 9 points
Burnley – 7 points
Sheffield United – 5 points
Purely as an experiment, I thought I’d take time out to look at the next FOUR fixtures for each club and using my impartial crystal ball predict the outcome of each of those fixtures, with my forecasts shown in capital letters:
Sheffield United
Brentford (h) – DRAW
Chelsea (a) – HOME WIN
Aston Villa (a) – AWAY WIN
Luton Town (h) – DRAW
Predicted Total = 7 points
Burnley
Brighton (a) – LOSS
Everton (h) – DRAW
Fulham (a) – LOSS
Liverpool (h) – LOSS
Predicted Total = 8 points
Luton Town
Manchester City (h) – LOSS
Bournemouth (a) – WIN
Newcastle United (h) – DRAW
Sheffield United (a) – DRAW
Predicted Total = 14 points
Everton
Chelsea (h) – WIN
Burnley (a) – DRAW
Fulham (h) – DRAW
Tottenham (a) – LOSS
Predicted Total = 15 points
Nottingham Forest
Wolves (a) – LOSS
Tottenham (h) – DRAW
Bournemouth (h) – WIN
Newcastle (a) – LOSS
Predicted Total = 17 points
Giving us a table, in FOUR games time, as thus:
Nottingham Forest – 17 points
Everton – 15 points
Luton Town – 14 points
Burnley – 8 points
Sheffield United – 7 points
Now, as can be seen, predictions show that I believe Luton Town will still be occupying one of the relegation places ahead of the last round of fixtures before we welcome 2024 in.
My predictions don’t leave me too downhearted as I believe our fixtures, this month, have been far more difficult than those of the teams around us and gives us hope that a 17th place finish is very much still a viable option.
I’d appreciate any thoughts you may have on the above article.
