Despite signing Thomas Kaminski, from Blackburn Rovers, ahead of the 2023/2024 Premier League season starting, the Hatters are being linked with another keeper.

According to Football Insider 24/7, Luton Town are looking to add the Norwich City goalkeeper Tim Krul to their squad.

Krul, now 35-years-of-age, has a wealth of Premier League experience and being in the last year of his current contract with the Norfolk based club, could be deemed to be a sell-able asset.

The Dutchman is currently deemed to be behind Angus Gunn in the Norwich City pecking order and has been on the bench for both of Norwich’s EFL Championship games this season.

However, if the deal were to go through, it leaves two questions to be answered.

1 – Would his capture affect Kaminski’s chances of retaining his current position as first choice?

and

2 – Would James Shea be happy to remain at Kenilworth Road knowing that he would be third choice?

With regards to the first question, I thought Kaminski played well in our opening fixture, away to Brighton, and didn’t deserve to be on the end of a 4-1 reverse. But, then again, Krul would provide the competition keepers need to keep them on top of their game.

As is the norm, here at Vital Luton Town, we’ll keep an eager eye out for any further developments and report back as deemed necessary.

I think Kaminski had a strong debut and was one of our strongest players against Brighton. Even if Krul does sign Kaminski should remain No. 1
