An intriguing title and one I hope has grabbed your attention.

I’m of the impression that following the life-threatening arrival of the COVID-19 virus, life, as we know it, will never be the same.

I can see no light at the end of the tunnel as far as the 2019 / 2020 season ending and I can also see the start of the 2020 / 2021 season being delayed.

For my generation, these are unheralded times, I can’t ever remember when we were in a lockdown situation and daily death figures were above 600, I ‘d be lying if I didn’t admit I’m scared for my future and also that of my family.

The lockdown has resulted in a display of just how arrogant the human race can be, with people ignoring the government imposed restrictions and doing just as they please, a typical example being those idiots who frequented the parks this weekend, just because it was warm and sunny.

But, returning to the main crux of this article and a possible indication that the football bubble, financially wise, could implode, I’m probably not the only one who is appalled that some Premier League clubs have ‘furloughed’ their non-playing staff whilst continuing to pay their players full wages.

How out of touch are these people?

To say it makes me angry is an understatement.

Clubs like Liverpool declare massive profits but shirk their responsibility when it comes to their non-playing staff, effectively asking for a government bail-out.

Of course, I should point out that there are some decent players and bosses out there who have dipped into their personal wealth to give to those who need it.

But the public can be an unforgiving bunch, especially those who are struggling financially and watch, aghast, at what is happening.

The Premier League, for years, has been awash with money, but now this.

We all have aspirations of seeing Luton reach the dizzy heights of top-flight football again, one day, but if that’s the world that awaits us, that aspiration could be waning.

Whilst the Premier League is awash with money, several EFL clubs are living on the proverbial breadline, struggling to maintain their existence, forced to ‘furlough’ their staff just to ensure they are still around when this nightmare finally ends.

We’re in a world of the ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’, a world which could see the sporting public have their eyes opened, my only fear is that some folk have short memories and in twelve months time those who are awash with money will still be filling their bank accounts with exorbitant wealth.

We can only hope the world learns its lesson, but don’t hold your breath!

Hi mh, sadly I have to concur with you, when this is over I see nothing changing. It is always the lowest wage earners who lose out first. Yet they are usually the people making the profit for the rich. Sad to say this will not change. Big clubs don’t give a toss about the stewards gate keepers food staff an cleaners. An we supporters will be back in our places when we restart. Sadly this is the world we live in now. It’s just me me me. So don’t get your hopes up
