Luton Town – December The Crunch Month Is Almost Upon Us

November, with games against Liverpool (h), Manchester United (a) and Crystal Palace (h) was always going to be a tough month.

But, compared to December, November could be called a walk in the park.

The Hatters points total for November wasn’t as bountiful as we had hoped and with our season, so far, proving to be difficult when it comes to a dream of a mid-table place, and safety, December could prove to be even more of a challenge.

Looking at the plethora of fixtures we face in what will be a busy month:

• 02 December – Brentford (a)
• 05 December – Arsenal (h)
• 10 December – Manchester City (h)
• 16 December – AFC Bournemouth (a)
• 23 December – Newcastle United (h)
• 26 December – Sheffield United (a)
• 30 December – Chelsea (h)

With the Hatters scheduled to play SEVEN games in total, FOUR at home and THREE away, meaning there are 21 points up for grabs.

However, the HOME games are all against sides who are among the best in the Premier League, Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Chelsea, a win in any of those four games would be an achievement.

As for the AWAY games, Brentford, AFC Bournemouth and Sheffield United, when it comes to obtaining points, they look to be more reasonable opposition.

The strange thing being is that the soccer pundits seem to believe establishing Kenilworth Road as a fortress is the way forward when it comes to Premier League survival, looking at the December fixtures can you see that happening before the turn of the year?

Which brings me on nicely to the crux of the article:

How Many Points Will Luton Town Earn In December?

0-6!

0-6!

7-12!

7-12!

13-21!

13-21!

To be honest if we can keep our goal against coulem down and smuggle 4 or five points out of the month I would consider it job done.
