Luton – Time For A Recall For This Player

Image for Luton – Time For A Recall For This Player

Here at Vital Luton Town, we, quite rightly, approved the recent recall of our young striker, Arabim Pepple, from his loan spell at Grimsby Town.

Our article – striker-returns-early-from-loan-spell – focussed on Pepple’s lack of game time being a critical factor in the clubs’ correct decision.

But as pointed out by a regular to our site, Steve Bahrain, who submitted a wonderful comment, are we approaching a situation where a similar process should be invoked for another of our players out on loan?

Steve has brought to our attention that Dion Pereira has slowly seen his career stagnate during his second loan spell at the League two side, Bradford City.

After a bright start to the season, the 23-year-old winger has seen his first team appearances become fewer and has had to be content with a place on the substitutes bench.

Clearly, the Bradford City manager, Mark Hughes, doesn’t feel the player is, currently, worth a start, prompting Steve to ask whether he should be recalled to the Luton squad, this January, and trying our best to utilise his skills by coaching him into a wing-back role, ready for next season.

Or, as Steve continues, despite signing a new deal before joining Bradford City, on loan, are Dion’s days at Luton Town numbered?

Your thoughts on the subject would be most appreciated in our comment facility beneath this article.

I find this article a difficult one. Without doubt this lad has shown glimpses of great ability but never consistently when out on loan only when he’s put a luton shirt on does he really shine. Now is this cos he’s looking to play at this level or does he feel our manager is giving him the right feedback and knows how to deal with him. And on loan he’s just left to sort himself out an doesn’t get enough management from his manager? Currently I would say his time at Bradford is up. But what to do with him I’m mystified!!!

Thanks for the vote and article MH.
I would love to see DP flourish at Luton, but I personally grow more skeptical as time goes by and can see him leaving in the summer.

pereira i think has lost his chance at luton. with the young players performing so well in development squad, etc. its only a matter of time till they make the first team. i got the impression that n.j. was’nt keen on pereira, even though he got rave reviews in pre season. i am always happy to be proven wrong, COYH.
