Luton – Thoughts On A Familiar Face Possibly Returning

Come next season, 2023/2024, it remains to be seen which league Luton Town will be competing in.

If things go our way, in the play-offs, we could be competing in the Premier League, the top-flight of English football.

If they don’t, well let’s not go down that route just yet!

Whatever happens, I’m expecting some activity in the transfer market what with the Hatters having, currently, three players on loan at the club, Cody Drameh, Marvelous Nakamba and Ethan Horvath.

Now whether the Hatters hierarchy can release enough cash and persuade their parent clubs to either part with them on a permanent basis or another loan period remains to be seen.

Ideally, I’d love to see Drameh kept by the club, especially if, as some feel, his parent club, Leeds United tumble out of the top-flight.

But if that isn’t possible could the return of James Bree become an option, especially if Southampton are relegated?

Since joining Southampton, in a permanent deal, in January for an undisclosed fee, the 25-year-old has failed to secure a place, even more so following Nathan Jones sacking, in the Southampton starting XI, making just 3 appearances.

As for a transfer fee, we may be able to get him back for a fee slightly less than we sold him for.

But what are your thoughts on the above subject matter?

Would You Be In Favour Of A James Bree Return?

Yes!

There might another very capable ex hatter who can play down the right relegated. JJ has had a rough ride with injuries and I’m sure he and Bree are probably out of our league wage wise at the moment. But if we had a choice between them I’d go JJ.

Getting Wedding-Venue back would also be fun so he could finally play in front of fans at the Kenny.

But it’s all hypothetical. Still a long way to go this year.

Wouldn’t bother me either way. As I feel nakamba is more needed an want him first.far more suited an far better than a wing back it’s what we need.

agree with you chris.where ever nakamba ends up, he will be a fantastic addition. think j.j. ‘s wages would be too high. bree not sure. suprised stacey has’nt been mentioned. COYH.

Hi Jimbo, if everyone on here is so keen on a wing back why not go down the younger cheaper option of getting in young key of Exeter city we supposedly are keeping tabs on him an if do or don’t go up he’s a better option.

With our playing style it’s too important a role for me CW… Especially if we are either fighting relegation in EPL or pushing to go even better in Championship.
Don’t disagree that Nakamba priority 1 but we need to sign Drameh or find another Doughty but right sided.

Steve as I’ve said an option is key of Exeter cheaper than some mentioned an has been tracked by the club an leaves more for a defensive midfielder.
