Luton – The Future Is Orange

Things are, now, certainly looking up for Luton Town Football Club with regards to the future.

With a 2-0 win against Coventry City virtually guaranteeing the clubs Championship status, for yet another season, the club released an official statement – Power Court and Newlands Park update – regarding the whole development.

You cannot help but get excited at what lies ahead, a brand spanking new ground set in a complex that could see the regeneration of the town centre.

Naturally, as you would expect in these pandemic driven times, there have been some changes.

The Newlands Road development, a complex that will go some way to funding the stadium complex development, has been scaled back when it comes to the shop aspect, with online shopping having firmly established itself since lockdown became the norm.

At Power Court, there will be an increase in the number of housing developments but without increasing the hight of the buildings, the last thing I wanted to see was a stadium dwarfed by tower blocks.

Of course, there are several other major points in the press release, but I will leave you to read them via the link to the official article.

However, you cannot be impressed by the overall development and the pictures released by the club show it will be an impressive area and it does not take long to see why the owners of The Mall had objections, it will make their out-dated complex with its eye-sore car parks look so shabby!

The future is, most definitely, orange,
