Luton – The Fly On The Wall Syndrome

With the game, against Peterborough United, looking to be ours, with 84 minutes gone, I’d love to have been a fly on the dressing room will after the game.

Just sitting there, anonymously, listen to what Nathan Jones had to say to his side after, for the second consecutive game, he’s seen two points drift away.

If Luton Town really are serious about claiming a play-off place, then taking just the two points out of the last 6 available, is not the way to go about things.

Thankfully, our saving grace is that we still occupy a play-off place, and our future is still in our own hands.

Naturally, following the result, Nathan spoke to the press, with The BBC, reporting that Nathan had this to say:

“We were 1-0 up after 85 minutes and just had to see the game out and we didn’t do that.

We had a warning just before with a header at the back stick, then they scored and then could have won it. We probably should have lost the game.

“We’ve been nowhere near our best tonight, but credit to Peterborough – they are grafting, they really needed a win and they went for it.

“It’s tough coming away so any point away is a good one, especially at this point, but I’m a bit frustrated we didn’t see the game out and at the level of performance.”

Now, it’s hard to disagree with the gaffers’ words but I reckon harsher words were uttered in the dressing room, don’t you?

Let’s just remember, when we were struggling against relegation we would have been battling and putting performances like boro did. It’s not just us that have struggled against this team. Although it was disappointing look where we are.
