The days of huddling around a transistor radio, to listen to the FA Cup draw, have long gone.
Instead, there is a more commercial air to the draw with it being held live on the television.
Although the FA Cup may have lost some of its magic, it is, for me, still common practise to make sure I see the draw.
Last night, with the draw taking place on BBC2, I inevitably tuned in and I have already offered a few of my thoughts on the hatters getting a plum tie, away to Chelsea – luton-town-you-just-knew-something-like-that-would-happen.
But what were the feelings of the Hatters faithful who, these days, can air their opinions via social media?
Well, it seems they were just as disappointed as me, as the following posts illustrate:
I cannot believe this 😭@ltfc_callum

It’s a joke. Would’ve been a class day

Absolutely gutting. The one season we can’t go and it’s Chelsea away.

And another summed it up in a far more dramatic fashion, emphasising the point I made in my referenced article:
This is a piss take first get utd at home in the league Cup and now Chelsea away in the fa Cup

The draw also pits the two sides against each other, in the FA Cup, for the first time since our paths crossed in the 1994 semi-final, at Wembley, a game the Hatters lost, prompting the remark:
Revenge for ‘94 🤣🧡💙

But, like I also mentioned in my article, it is a tie Luton can win, a view shared by this post:
Winnable 💯🎩🧡

However, is that a view you share?
Please feel free to air your views on what should be a cracking tie in the comment facility beneath this article.
