Support Divided On England’s EURO 2020 Chances

The 2020/2021 season may well be over but, much to my other half’s dismay, a football fest is almost upon us.

If watching football is not my wife’s idea of fun, then the thought of it interrupting her beloved soap operas might just be enough to send her into hibernation.

Yes, EURO 2020 is almost with us!

Yesterday, Gareth Southgate final got around to announcing which 19 players would join up with his 4 right backs.

To say it is an eclectic squad is an understatement.

But for us English, it is a chance to get all patriotic and believe that this, when it comes to major honours, really is our year!

Last week, with news relating to Luton a bit on the short side, I opted to run a poll which simply asked:

Can England Win EURO 2020?

In hindsight, perhaps it might have been better to substitute CAN with WILL.

But when it came to the result of the poll the result there was not much in it with 43% reckoning England will lift the trophy in July and 57% of the belief our dreams, once again, will be dashed.

Personally, I reckon we have as good a chance as anybody and I cannot wait for this football fest to begin and sod the soap operas!
