Earlier this week, speculation emerged implying that the Hatters were looking to bring Matt Macey back to Kenilworth Road.
Our associated article – luton-linked-with-a-move-for-a-familiar-goalkeeper – contained a poll that simply asked whether, you would prefer to see Macey resume his place between the sticks or whether Nathan Jones should give Harry Isted a chance to establish himself, with James Shea side-lined for the considerable future.
As far as polls go, the result was close, with 58% opting for Isted and 42% (if he were to sign), opting for Macey.
Some may say that Isted lacks experience, but my view is that, at 25-years-of-age it is now time to give Isted his big break, or to term it another way, it is his make-or-break season.
When called upon, last season, Isted never let Luton down and looked competent enough to be given the chance he deserves.
After all, if he isn’t played how is he ever going to get that valuable experience or make the breakthrough?

Simples must be given 10 games at the start of the season as no 1. Unless he puts in sluga performance!!!!!
The wsy i see it Jones need another goalkeeper who is experienced at this level Istead is not up to the standard of the championship in my opinion you look at all the other clubs in this league they have 2 first choice keepers we have not replced Sluga and that needs to be done or it will cost us
We have all said we need a keeper and there is 1 coming. But how can anyone say isted isn’t good enough….we haven’t seen much of him and if you don’t try him, he will never get experience at this level…..

with 5 subs allowed now its PERFECT for blooding youngsters etc . We have been very fearfull to blood such for 15 years as always pushing & pushing for promotion.
But only Justin come through in 15 years !!
In the old 1st division we blooded Kingsley Black,Nwajobi, & many others, in lower league blooded Hartson, Upson, Thorpe & many others .
The greatest Man united & Leeds teams were PACKED with home grown talent .
They had the comraderie & loyalty needed to push to the highest performance levels
