The Hatters poor run of form continued Saturday when they were beaten at home by a Cardiff City side who had been struggling in the Championship.
Indeed, as soon as I heard Cardiff City had not scored a goal in the first half, all season, I kind of knew they’d get one at Kenilworth Road.
The defeat sees Luton slip down to 15th place and, shamefully, we are now nearer a relegation place than we are a play-off place when it comes to points accumulated.
Naturally, with the Hatters having taken just 1 point from the last 12 available, the social media sites were not joyous residences over the weekend.
Many supporters were not afraid to vent their spleen when it came to a poor performance from their side:
Worrying times when we’re losing at home to a poor Cardiff side 🙄

Every time I think they can’t get worse….. I’m proved wrong

In fact, the events of the past eight days were summed up perfectly by this post:
A week to forget

But, after another inept display, one of quite a few we’ve seen this season, many felt that Nathan Jones was to blame:
Jones has to take the blame for this, what a negative lineup, negative tactics. Jones worries way too much about the opposition and matching them up, just play Luton’s attacking way.

Worst performer today? Nathan Jones

NJ out

Although I have to say the last post was a bit drastic, thankfully, not everybody felt the same:
Careful what you wish for. NJ is good, we’ve had our fair share of bad ones…
— PDK (@PDK63839344) November 27, 2021
But, after the disappointing result and as reported by The BBC, the gaffer didn’t shy away from any criticism, remarking,
“I regret the changes I made, I make the same mistakes because I am learning as a manager.
“I pulled people out of the team today who were excellent in midweek, I wanted us to be big and strong and go again and we didn’t.”
A ploy that clearly didn’t work.
But, while we lick our wounds awaiting the chance, next Saturday, to get back to winning ways when we take a seaside jaunt to Blackpool, I’ll leave you with the following thought provoking post:
After Coventry NJ said we’d “turned a corner.” Think we’ve turned the wrong way…

Luton – Just One Signing In The January Transfer Window
Morning MH following a Black Saturday. with no discounts available on the day.
We need a Ray ( Rae) of hope not someone on £9k a week who only gives a less than average performance. We cannot continue with three central defenders if we keep failing to mark opposing players, ( mark the man not the space comes to mind) Go back to four in midfield two defending and two attackers this worked in the past. Pelly Ruddock should be dropped given his current performances and Bree rested. We really need to find a midfielder who can take and score from outside the box. Someone in the Moncur mold of the past.. It is not to late but Nathan must stop just playing favourites.
My team – SLuga – Bell – Bradley- Naismith – Biurke- Cambell- Landsbury – Clark- ???Cornick – Adebayo One still undecided.

Hi 75, all good ideas but as I said in my post he will not change his dogmatic approach. Until that happens I see no improvement an the players need a wake up call as well.
put osho in your team, not ruddock again.can but hope.COYH.
