Some last reflections on the win over Blackpool before we focus on what could be a stiff away fixture at Rotherham.
The 3-1 win extend Luton’s unbeaten run, in the EFL Championship, 9 games and the Hatters have only been beaten on the 1 occasion in the last 15 fixtures.
That fine run has seen Luton accumulate 24 points out of the last 30 points available in the last 10 games, but it is one final statistic that caught my eye.
When Carlton Morris was the first to react, scoring Luton’s second goal, it ended a mini drought for our striker.
Carlton, in hitting the net, ended a goal drought that had lasted for 3 games – Sunderland, Watford and Millwall and came after he’d netted for 3 consecutive fixtures – Swansea City, Sheffield United and Bristol City.
Shades of a recent article – 3-is-the-magic-number.
The goal, against Blackpool, means that Carlton now has 17 goals for the season, 3 short of the magic 20 mentioned in an article from a few weeks back – support-in-no-doubt-striker-can-hit-suggested-goal-target – a figure 98% of those who voted in the associated poll, believed was a viable target for our top scorer.
Can Carlton keep the 3-theme going by netting in the forthcoming games against Rotherham United and Reading?
Don’t bank against it!

Be nice if he kept the theme of 3 going with 3 goals in the Rotherham game.
now that would be cool 🙂
3 games is hardly a drought😂 let’s talk about the lack of any real contribution from our other ‘striker’ shall we…
