Luton – Smells Like Team Spirit

I’m starting to get this feeling that the appointment of Rob Edwards may have been a stroke of genius.

Okay, I know he’s only been in charge for 3 games, and he’s overseen 2 wins and 1 defeat, but the style of football is refreshing to watch, it’s almost as if we’ve thrown off the shadow of staleness that had crept in during the last few months of Nathan Jones tenure as manager.

Now I’m not saying Edwards will prove to be the messiah, I know how fickle this sport of ours can be, but I’ve noticed a certain something that is pleasing on the eye.

There is a certain togetherness about the XI out on the pitch.

It was noticeable against Norwich City but even more prominent against Queens Park Rangers.

Whenever anybody misplaces a pass, others actively encourage, in the best possible way, the offender to forget the misdemeanour and get on with their game.

Also, any great defensive work is met with a slap on the back and words of encouragement from the others, something that is always good to see.

But lastly, everyone seems to be playing with a smile on their faces and knows their role something that may have not always been the case, previously.

To me, it smells just like team spirit!

I agree mh they are looking again like the team that took us to the play offs and similarly with massive injury problems. Let’s hope it lasts.

The togetherness between manager and players at full-time you’d be forgiven for thinking he had spent years inside the building…
A lot of the credit for that goes to the boys as well and shows what a humble and genuine bunch of guys our recruitment team have put together over many years and so chuffed to see it for all parties.

Well Jones did a lot for the club but the football we watched was not the best but it did the job . The few games Rob had and can see a better way of playing playing though the midfield and for one I hope it carries on .coyh

Honestly, this article is a stretch.

I’m as disappointed as the next man that Jones left (again) but how can we so quickly forget just how much we (over) achieved on his watch.

Small squad, put together with a tremendous eye for value and chemistry, this is the same team that has been beating the big boys consistently for the last 1.5 seasons.

I hope the new guys keeps the standard as high as it has been, but let’s not pretend that Jones wasn’t the best thing to hapen to LTFC in decades.
