Luton – Sell Or Keep – Luke Berry

Continuing with our analysis of the current squad and who might be considered as falling into the keep or sell category.

Earlier this week, we covered – George Moncur – and today it is another midfielder that falls under our microscope, Luke Berry.

Berry joined the Hatters, from Cambridge United, in 2017 with a reputation of being a box-to-box midfielder who was capable of scoring more than his fair share of goals.

During the recent 2020 / 2021 season, Berry started 22 Championship games and scored 2 goals against Derby County (h) and Blackburn Rovers (h).

His current contract is up this summer, but we should point out that Luton Town do hold an option to extend that deal by a further season.

Whether that will be the case remains to be seen.

It could be argued that Berry’s progress, in a Luton shirt, was hampered during the 2020 / 2021 season by the loan signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and the subsequent competition for the remaining midfield places in the starting eleven.

Some regular visitors to Vital Luton, have also suggested that Nathan Jones has not utilised him enough preferring to stick with his favourites.

But what are your views on the player?
