Yesterday, the media was awash with the suggestion that Luton Town were set to add to their squad.
Our article – announcement-of-new-signing-could-be-imminent – confirmed that the player in question was the 20-year-old midfielder Elliot Thorpe.
Released by Tottenham Hotspur, the free agent was wanted by several clubs, with Burnley and Cardiff City being just two named.
But Nathan Jones persuaded the youngster that he would be better served joining Luton and he willingly put pen-to-paper but as appears to be the case at Kenilworth Road, details pertaining to the contract have not been forthcoming.
Nevertheless, as reported by The BBC, Nathan is particularly pleased to have gotten the deal across the line with the gaffer quoted by our source as having remarked:
“He’s young and a very technically gifted midfield player.”
With the player enthusing about his move:
“I’m delighted to be here; it has been a long process but one that is definitely going to be worth the wait.”
The signing has also been applauded by the Hatter support with social media awash with fans welcoming Elliot to Kenilworth Road:

As for the Tottenham support, they seem to believe the move is only a stepping-stone prior to, if he does well, a return to North London.
All the best my bro. I just know ur gonna turn into a baller. But please comeback if we call you.

Do well and get into the Wales team. Then hopefully back to Spurs

Could a clause in the contract we are not pertinent to contain a buy back clause?
Meanwhile, with Nathan’s squad hit with a raft of injuries, ahead of the clash with AFC Bournemouth this afternoon, could we see Elliot make his debut?
Lastly, it is my duty to welcome Elliot to Kenilworth Road and I hope his stay is a successful one.

Luton – Up Against The Odds On The South Coast
Morning mh, As I said yesterday don’t be surprised if he’s somewhere in today’s squad. Good news regarding Campbell. Think they together could be our new spring an mclaren. That would be something!!! As for his contract I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they have a buy back clause. Although technically he is a free agent they may be entitled to a development fee
future midfield – Lansbury, Campbell and Thorpe?
like the look of that midfield. what we need is the defence to get more solid, then anything is possible.good to see campbell recovering. this championship is such a hard league, just losing a few players, and you can be in trouble realy quickly. i am still happy with the squad, just need that tiny bit of luck.stay positive.
