Luton – Announcement Of New Signing Could Be Imminent

|

The transfer window may be officially closed but there are still ways in which you can add to the squad.

Clubs can sign players that are out of contract and it would appear that Luton Town will, hopefully, make a signing today.

Yesterday afternoon, as reported by Wales Online, Luton are closing in on signing the young midfielder, Elliot Thorpe.

Thorpe, just 20-years-of-age, is a free agent after being released by Tottenham Hotspur and as Luton Today, reports has been training with the Hatters recently.

His availability has interested several clubs including Burnley, Cardiff City, Leicester City and the Bundesliga side, Hoffenheim.

However, it would appear that Nathan Jones has persuaded the young Welsh U21 midfielder that Luton’s vision is something that can help Elliot’s career progress on an upward spiral.

With the club beset with massive injury problems, Thorpe could see himself thrust into first team action sooner than Nathan might have hoped for, but it looks doubtful whether, if he does put pen-to-paper whether he will do so in time to play against Bournemouth this weekend.

Here at Vital Luton Town, we will endeavour to monitor the media for confirmation of the deal being completed.

Morning mh, I can confirm that he passed his medical tests yesterday and has agreed terms with the club. So unless there is a late offer from someone else. An he decides its a better option. Then I expect to hear he’s signed today.

Hi Chris ,do you think he is a signing for the development squad or will he go straight into the first team squad ?

I have to confess I’m not sure. What I’ve been told is that held in high regards at spurs an was wanted. But he’s ambitious an felt like his path to the first team was way off as they had so many good players. My source says he’s more like Campbell than kdh. An he’s played for luton an spurs. But with our injuries he is capable of going straight into our first team. Apparently nj persuaded him that he could do well here an that he would be like Stacey an Justin an wouldn’t stand in the way of him moving to better things. If the opportunity arose.

We way things are going he could be on the bench on Saturday but let’s hope he can settle in first before being put under any pressure. I like the fact we are getting young players in to the club but I would like to see want they can do on the big stage sometime , not sure who said it but good enough then they are old enough give the young ones a chance . Hi mh, don’t be surprised to see his name somewhere on the team sheet 😊. He’s not been brought in just for the development squad believe me. He’s better than that. An he’s more like Campbell

  • Chris winter says:

In other news Campbell was back on the grass. This morning doing light training.
