Luton – Opening A Can Of Worms

Earlier this week, with very little news forthcoming, I published a rather speculative article.

With it being undecided, which league we’ll be playing in next season and unclear as to whether we’ll be able to manage to keep any of the three loan signings currently on our books, I concentrated on the full back position.

With Cody Drameh being a superb loan acquisition, back in January, I wanted to know if you felt there was a case for a familiar face returning – thoughts-on-a-familiar-face-possibly-returning.

When Nathan Jones left Luton, for greener pastures, he also took James Bree with him to Southampton.

Bree, sadly, has not been able to make an impact for his new club and could, come the summer, be set to move on.

Therefore, I felt it prudent to ask the simple question:

Would You Be In Favour Of A James Bree Return?

With only two options to choose from, YES or NO, the vote remained pretty close with, those who voting YES, 55%, proving to be the majority, as opposed to the 45% who opted for NO.

But in posting the article, I opened up something akin to a can of worms, with several other perspective recruits being mentioned, included two former Luton Town favourites, Jack Stacey and James Justin, whilst the young Exeter City full-back, Joshua Key, also got a mention.

Personally, I don’t think we’ll see the return of any of the former Hatters mentioned, Rob Edwards will have his own thoughts on how he strengthens the squad, most of which he inherited from the Nathan Jones era.

Although don’t rule out Luton pursuing their interest in Key, following up from speculation published back in January this year – Luton Town make approach for Josh Key.

It could be an exciting summer.

Morning mh, I looked at this way if we get promoted many on here have said we must not spend over budget you can’t have it both ways.So maybe 1marquee signing an I’ve heard that isn’t a full back. Therefore I suspect we’ll carry on with trying to get young prospects in.knowing we will probably be relegated they will have a season of toughening up an then the championship again. That if we’re relegated if we aren’t then they know the league an can push on. It’s that simple.

Chris that’s one thing Luton town would not do over spend, waste money one player we desperately need is another striker like Morris 20 plus goals a season, we won’t get relegated the 1st season in premier league, have faith. We are going UP this time.

Hi Roland, as I said many on here want players at unrealistic prices for our budget. As for the marquee signing I can’t say much but is why I’m saying what I did an why I said it depends on which div we are in.

chris i am sure you would love to see a marquee signing. if a way could be found ,nakamba would be my first choice. more important to me is getting existing players signing new contracts. have high hopes of young players making a breakthrough. living in hope!!! COYH.

Hi Jimbo, I see Rob has already said he hopes to promote youngsters soon.also after the end of the season whatever happens we should be financially able to do more again from the money made again this season.

Hi all, last game of the season an everyone says it’s a nothing game of the season with Luton and Middlesbrough nothing to play for. I disagree borough play their biggest game as they can dictate who they face likely in the play offs if results pan out do they want to face Coventry or millwall.if they lose to Coventry an Millwall win it’s Coventry. If they win it’s Millwall so who would you want to face ?
