Luton Midfielder Set To Join Hatters Exodus

In what is turning out to be a major summer squad revamp, it appears the Hatters are set to lose another of last seasons’ midfield contingent.

According to The Daily Mail, Ryan Tunnicliffe has rejected the chance to put pen-to-paper to a new two year deal and is set to leave Kenilworth Road after joining the club in July 2019 from Millwall.

During his time at Kenilworth Road, Tunnicliffe has 63 league appearances and has scored 3 goals.

In the 2020/2021 season, he made 17 starts and scored against Sheffield Wednesday (h) and Nottingham Forest (a).

As for potential destinations, our referenced source implies Tunnicliffe could be heading to either Derby County, Huddersfield Town, Barnsley or Hull City.

Although Tunnicliffe is a player I would liked to have seen sign a new contract it is a case of the adage – if they do not want to play for the club then move them on!

Is that a view you concur with or disagree with?

Hi mh, after some of Glen rea’s performances last season I thought tunnicliffe would be his successor as he performed well. But it’s not to be I liked him but good luck to the lad.

  • Colin says:

No Great loss in my opinion he never did it for me better midfielders out there

  • Kev says:

I am not bothered by Tunniclife leaving at all. He never looked comfortable on the ball to me and lacked creativity. He showed a few moments of class but they were to few for us to be worried about his departure. But good luck to the lad in his new role, wherever that may be.

It just shows you what a good squad we have as most of the players that have been let go or not signed a new contract have gone to other championship clubs so our squad was and is a strong one. If someone what’s to leave good luck to them but no one is bigger than the club . Coyh

Just hope Morell will be given plenty of game time now

David after his performance at the euros. An the things he’s said about our club an his attitude to training. He can never play for our club again!!! If he did us fans would crucify him unmercifully..

  • Peter Scott says:

I think LTFC should withdraw the offers to all 3 – they are just mucking us around – if we know all 3 are history then we can move forward. Tunnicliffe is a good player with a good pedigree but the other two would not make it on the bench in other Championship clubs. Tunnicliffe though has played a couple of times in the Premiership and for England U17 & 18

Don’t think you can say they are mucking around…their contrated til end of June. Plus just because the club don’t make it public knowledge, doesn’t mean they don’t know what’s going on….

if i was a midfielder at luton i would ask myself were am i in the pecking order. dont think tunniciffe thinks he is anywhere near the top,in that case i dont blame him wanting out.agree with chris if they dont want to stay then let them go. i feel very happy with the signings we have made, cant wait to see the first team sheet.alans comment on the fact that thLe club dont make it public knowledge is spot on. would love to be a fly on the WALL.COYH AND ITALY.
