At the moment, us Hatters really are living the dream and who is to say it there won’t be a rude awakening.
A third successive win, making it five wins in the last six Championship games, has lifted Luton Town to sixth in the Championship table.
It should also be noted that the Hatters have played fewer games than most of those above us, the potential to gate-crash the play-offs grows by the game.
The 1-0 win, against Derby County, may have been scrappy, but, at this stage of the season, its points that matter rather than performance.
After the narrow win against a beleaguered Derby County side, and as reported by The BBC, Nathan Jones didn’t mince his words, acknowledging the fact yesterday was all about the points while also admiring the performance of one Danny Hylton, remarking:
“We have taken 15 out of 18 points which is a phenomenal month to have in the Championship. We haven’t gone three on the bounce before and that’s all I wanted today.
“I didn’t mind about the performance – it’s everything about the win at this stage, and they put in massive shifts. I’m so proud of the group and of Danny Hylton. He’s had some stick and people have written him off, but he’s brilliant.
“As they went a little bit open and gung-ho we had good opportunities on the counter-attack to kill the game and I was disappointed we didn’t do that, but realistically we would have taken any win today.”
Well, I certainly would have even more so against a club fighting for their very existence.
It also seems the Hatters support, on social media, didn’t mind the manner in which the win was earned but also admired the effort put in, as the following posts show:

Once again, we lifted it in the 2nd half and a thoroughly deserved win, if not ugly at times. Thought Hylton was excellent when he came on

Next up for the Hatters, in the Championship, is a long trip to Middlesbrough, to take on, potentially, one of our rivals for a play-off place, there’s also the small matter of a 5th round FA Cup tie against Chelsea, in midweek, here’s hoping living in dreamland continues with another two wins on the bounce.
