Social Media can, as we know, be a wonderful thing, if used correctly.
For instance, when it comes to the acquisition of a new player, is there anywhere better to gauge opinion on the abilities of the player recruited?
I have always said that the acid test, when it comes to signing a player, is the response from the supporters of the club he has just left.
Elijah Adebayo was a typical case with the Walsall support aghast that he had been sold.
Yesterday, the Hatters official Twitter site was awash with Luton supporters welcoming Fred Onyedinma to the club, but hidden amongst them were posts of gold from Wycombe Wanderers supporters, praising their player, as the comment below illustrate:
you’ve got a good one guys, feel free to loan him back in January if things don’t work out
— Tyron (@tlmfootball) May 25, 2021
Damn. You’ve got a good one there guys but this hurts us Wycombe fans.

But, studying the posts, although we indicated that Onyedinma was a winger, it appears that the Wycombe support believe left wing-back is his best position:
Despite being a winger, we couldn't get the best out of him there. Got alot of his goals and assists towards the end of our resurgence when played at LWB. Amazing player, hope you can get the most out of him

That’s a great signing for you guys play him in his best position never thought I’ll say this but good luck next season guys

Play him at LWB and you won't be sorry 👍

When the players report for pre-season training, I am sure that Nathan Jones will have a plan for our latest recruit.
Meanwhile, on behalf of Vital Luton town, I would like to welcome Fred to Kenilworth Road and we hope his Hatters career is a long and fruitful one.

Luton Move Quick To Secure First Summer Signing
morning all, if Fred’s half as good as the last right footed left wing back we had in JJ we’re in for a treat, sounds like he’ll keep bombing forward for 90 mins. Looks like NJ’s new diamond formation is starting to take shape.

Hi Danny, let’s hope we get someone in to get on the end of crosses as well. Unlike a lot on here elijah isn’t yet a 20 goal a season man they think he is an will need an experienced striker along side.
Let’s hope so his signing genuinely excites me
agree with you danny, but i hope we have a J.J. in peter kioso.will be good to see him and fred in the mix.and its only just started.COYH.
Hi jimbo, yes, exciting times ahead ………… if i were Bree or Potts i’d be nervously looking over my shoulder at these two young, athletic, attack minded wing backs arriving on the scene.

Hi Chris, i agree we need to bring someone in to start putting the chances away with Fred & Jordan Clark providing the assists down the flanks. Two new strikers must surely be our minimum requirement of which one has to be an experienced type.
Despite his fantastic start to life in the Championship we should be mindful of Elijah’s age and the level he’s come from. I would be delighted if he can match Collo’s 13/14 goal tally in his first full season, anything above that would be an unexpected bonus.
