After our fine recent form, which had seen us take 15 points out of the last 18 available, I’m not sure we were expecting what happened at Middlesbrough.
I, for one, expected us to at last get a draw, perhaps ignoring the fact that Middlesbrough had won their last eight home fixtures, in all competitions.
But, nevertheless, after the performance against Chelsea, I expected to be in a better position than losing 2-0 deep into stoppage time before we scored a consolation goal.
The result sees the Hatters drop two positions to eighth in the table but still hanging onto the tails of those in the play-off place.
But what went so wrong yesterday?
Looking at the social media posts, here is the general reaction:
Piss poor ref, bad position by keeper for 2 nd goal, Burke tired very quickly , bad day at office…. Move on

It seems there is a bit of resentment in the air that we should have gone out for the scalp of Chelsea big-time instead of rotating the squad.
But the following post sums it up perfectly for me:
Deserved defeat, never in it… on to Tuesday .
