Luton – Is This The Answer To One Problem

When it comes to the man between the posts, it has been an extraordinary season for Luton Town FC.

Circumstances have contrived to ensure that the Hatters have fielded a vast array of different keepers with the roll call reading as thus:

• Simon Sluga
• James Shea
• Jed Sheer
• Harry Isted
• Alex Palmer

and

• Matt Ingram

The last name in that list, cancelled his honeymoon in an exotic location, to rush to our rescue, on an emergency loan spell.

With James Shea out injured, long term, the gaffer has already spoken about the need to bring in a new keeper, although there many supporters out there who would like to see Harry Isted given a chance.

But, in giving up his honeymoon and answering our plea to play, I suspect that Matt Ingram could well be interested in joining Luton, from Hull City, on a permanent basis.

However, it is hard to make a judgement call on whether Ingram is the man for us.

In the few appearances he made, including the 7-0 thrashing inflicted upon us by Fulham, Ingram was, in my opinion, never given the opportunity to show us exactly what he is capable of, which leads me into asking the following question:

Should Luton Sign Matt Ingram On A Permanent Deal?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Hi mh, for me Ingram isn’t for us. Didn’t think he showed enough to complete with isted or shea. Next season I would hope isted is still with us he may not be. If he is must be allowed to compete for the number 1 Jersey if not that means signing 2 keepers of which there will be a plethora of released by clubs. And maybe bacuna of man City on a season long loan as number 3

I think all credit to Ingram for stepping in and giving up his honeymoon which is appreciated. But I dont think he is what we need. He should have covered his front post for the goal in the first leg and he was very lucky not to give away a penalty in the second.
Like others have said would like to see Isted given more of a go. But would also like to see Steer come back when fit as I thought he looked good.

Sadly kev that will be a longer way off than shea. If he plays again also would you take a chance of a keeper with ligament problems that’s twice in two yrs an age is against him.

shea and isted are good keepers, will be interesting to see what happens. i feel there will be additions in a few areas, and maybe some leaving. hope the additions are better quality, but they cost money. also hope that the inflation rate dosent have an impact on the new stadium. all things said and done, this has been an unbelievable season. lets hope that this is the beginning of a fantastic new chapter in our history.
