Luton – Have You Any Mobile Footage From Monday Evening?

You may have noticed that, here at Vital Luton Town, we’re not prepared to let the matter drop when it comes to recent scenes involving pitch invasions.

Yesterday, we ran an article suggesting what we believed would be the right thing to do – harsh-drastic-but-something-must-be-done.

It received a decent response and saw some comments left by Huddersfield supporters who have stood up and apologised on behalf of those idiots that stained their clubs’ reputation.

Thankfully, it now seems that, according to the BBC, the authorities are looking to take action with the Kirklees District CID appealing for any mobile phone footage supporters who attended the game may have of the unsavoury incident.

Talking about the incident, Detective Chief Inspector Marie Bulmer is reported to have remarked:

“We are continuing to investigate the disorder at the end of this fixture and I can promise those involved will be fully prosecuted for criminal offending they are identified as committing.

“We absolutely will not tolerate behaviour of this kind at sporting fixtures in West Yorkshire and I am appealing to supporters of both clubs who can assist our inquiries to contact us.”

So, if you can help, please contact Kirklees CID.

But continuing, the referenced inspector also remarked:

“It is important for their sake we identify and take action to make it very clear to that small minority that there is a real price to pay for this sort of behaviour.”

But will the punishments befit the crime?

The reason I ask is that the idiot who headbutted the Sheffield United striker, Billy Sharp, was fast tracked through the justice system and given a 24-week prison sentence.

Was that a punishment that befitted the multiple crimes he committed or was it too lax?

I’d love to hear your point of view on the sentence, my view was that it was too lax.

Hopefully, what happened on that Monday night will not be brushed under the carpet and like the Detective Chief Inspector implies, justice will be seen to be done and those who are arrested will be named.

Already sent mine to HTAFC and Luton. Finally got a response from a nice lady at HTAFC on Friday. First apology from that club but it was from an individual. And despite her being nice, even then it was “sorry a few idiots spoiled it for everyone”.

HTAFC has handled it so badly. If an apology ever comes it will be at least a week after the event. Glad I’ve brought my teenagers up to be better than that. Something goes wrong, apologise straight away. If an apology ever comes from HTAFC it will be 100% meaningless

I’m at Wembley watching newport Pagnell town fc. I always forget about the weird fences here. And that’s a good thing. They are waste height and fold over about 5 foot. They don’t look or feel like fences. If you’ve had a pitch invasion, you should be made to install those
