Luton – A Fallen Giant

Before I headed off out, last night, for the obligatory Friday night meet up, I was unfortunate enough to catch fifteen minutes, or so, of a programme I used to never miss.

The program in question being ‘Question of Sport’.

Watching what was unfolding before my very eyes, I couldn’t believe how bad the show has become.

What used to be an unmissable thirty minutes has now become thirty minutes to avoid.

Gone are the days when I sat on every word uttered and admired those presenting it and those lucky enough to appear on the show, now it has become unrecognisable.

Ian Botham, Bill Beaumont, Emlyn Hughes and Willie Carson, to name but a few, were pure entertainment and I used to, quickly scan the Radio Times, when it came out, to see who would be on the next broadcast.

I used to love the following aspects of the show:

• The Picture Board
• Mystery Personality
• What Happened Next?

all highlights of the show.

But what is fed to the audience now is miles off the pace, unwatchable segments, guests that do not deserve to grace the show and a host, well I’d better keep my comments to myself.

But to perhaps sum it up, why, oh why, have hey veered away from sporting stars to have people such as Jordan North and Naga Munchetty on the panel.

Time to remove it from the schedule BBC, a fallen giant that can never match what has gone before!

But what are your views?

Do you agree with my views or strongly disagree?

It’s a relatively free world so please feel free to have your say in the comment facility beneath this article.

Also, as an aside, can you recall the names of anyone who appeared on the programme with Luton connections?

The programme is now boring and I don’t watch it anymore.

  • Bryan Russell says:

Totally agree, the once unmissable programme is now that bad that I never choose to watch it. Before this reincarnation, I frequently laughed whilst testing my sporting knowledge, now it just irritates me!

  • Peter Scott says:

The Biden Broadcasting Channel has become so woke thats the reason why. Its run by lefties that have absolutely nothing in common with the average person in the street – dont watch BBC anymore since strictly come dancing was aired – unter drivel . Now they have ruined Dr Who.

    • Mad Hatter says:

Indeed they have ruined Dr Who, never been the same since Russell T Davies left, let’s hope he brings the magic back. It irks me to pay that bloody licence fee with all the crap they now broadcast
