Yesterday, the morning after the Carabao Cup win over Reading, the Hatters support were delighted that the clubs’ reward was a home 3rd round fixture against Manchester United.
However, the article we ran – luton-fans-delighted-with-manchester-united-clash-but-there-are-complications – pondered over the fact that the only way Luton Town FC could make any money from the game was if the tie were to be televised live by Sky Sports.
We did point out that the chances of that happening were quite good with most cup ties Manchester United are involved in invariably end up being broadcast live.
Thankfully, our optimism has come to fruition.
It has been announced that the fixture will, indeed, be broadcast live with it being shown on Tuesday 22-September with a 20:15 kick-off.
Naturally, such news has delighted the Hatters support but trawling through the social media comments, it appears not everybody is as ecstatic as us:
Fine if you've got Sky.
