Just How Would Luton Town Deal With This Problem?

|

Okay, as we have reported earlier today, the Hatters will not be playing in front of 1000 spectators this Saturday when we welcome Derby County, to Kenilworth Road, for a Championship fixture.

Our article, published earlier today – luton-support-question-clubs-decision-making-over-yesterdays-press-release – covered the disappointment that having been granted permission to admit 1,000 the Hatters then implied that there was not sufficient time to organise such a monumental task.

But let us take things a little further!

If Luton had agreed, after being granted permission to do so, to admit 1000 supporters, just how would they go about deciding who would be grated a ticket?

Would there be a totally random draw?

Would it be the first 1000 who renewed their season tickets?

Would there be less than 1000 tickets available once the playing staff had been given their share?

Three interesting points, I feel.

But what would be your solution to the quandary?

Is there a solution that would please all?

Hi mh, they could do random draw for season ticket holders, computerised wouldn’t take long to do….also had they asked for volunteers to help get the ground ready, they could have been granted entry….sure it’s not rocket science to sort out…but to bloody late now..lesson for the future…bet the efl wont ask us again tho….

Hi Alan, I’m also thinking it would be easy enough to set up a computerised random draw however the majority of season ticket holders probably attend/sit with other season ticket holders family/friends etc. Would those fans want to attend the game on their own if selected and also a fair few fans rely on others for transport to and from the game which may prevent some from attending. It looks easy enough on the surface to arrange but i suspect some may not want to go for the these reasons, add in those wary of socialising around others finalising the 1000 fans may actually take some doing.

For me as much as i would like to watch live football again being a season ticket i would happily give my ticket to a paying customer to help the club so long as i can watch it on tv.

Don’t think it would be our generation, but maybe the younger tech generation might prefer online gaming football in the future….
