Luton – Frustration, Disappointment, Pressure Or Just Plain Stupidity

There’s no denying that football is a passionate sport, a game that can see the calmest of people erupt and cross the line.

Last night, when, in the second half, Elijah Adebayo slid his spot kick just the wrong side of the post, a melee erupted.

Now I’m not quite sure what started it, but I suspect the Huddersfield Town player, Lewis O’Brien, may have said something out of order.

Such far from wise words saw Kal Naismith step forward and shove, forcibly, O’Brien to the floor.

As a result, numerous other players joined in, and the incident became a free-for-all.

Watching on, it wouldn’t have surprised me if the referee, Geoff Eltringham, had shown Naismith a straight red card.

As it turned out, Naismith only received a yellow card, along with a couple of the others involved.

But what was it that drove Naismith to carry out such an act?

Was it a combination of frustration, disappointment, and pressure, or was it just plain stupidity?

Whatever the cause, I’m sure I’m not alone in raising a smile when it happened, how about you?

Considering the refs performance of the whole game. Why are you surprised he gave adebayo nothing the whole game every time he receives the ball they were pulling him back by the shirt an getting the free kick claiming he was backing into them. I thought he had an appalling game.

I was behind the bench last nite and I’ve never seen big mick so wound up be a ref, even when he was playing. Adebayo got nothing all game. I’m hearing something rather unsavoury was said to him after his pen miss…..

Morning MH What a disappointment after throwing away at least three points in the last three games. What is particularly galling is that Sunny Bradwell was responsible for failing to cut out a cross in the Peterborough game and Snodgrass was responsible for the first Huddersfield goal by not being aware who was behind him. Naismith should know better as a senior pro and could easily have been sent off depleting our defence for yet another game.

What I cannot understand is why Bree (one of smaller players ) was preferred to Potts at the start of the game. We missed the crosses that Bree in his normal right wing back role could have provided. Such a shame for Adebayo if only he had used one of his earlier style penalty kicks hard and straight down the middle. Forest is now a must win game if one looks at the other teams run-inns . Whatever happens how proud are we of our Manager and team whether we finish in the play-offs or just missing out.

its as i f elijah has got a sign round his neck saying ,please don’t give me the decision. ? .they cleverley nullified elijah last night. our defence have not played together enough, and it shows. naismith was talking to the ref, when he should have been preventing that well taken first goal. the second goal was basic error,no back post marker?. apart from these two lapses, i was very pleased with the performance. would love to see burke back, keep enjoying the ride.COYH.
