With just four games to go, in the 2021/2022 Championship season, Luton Town, after a fine win over Nottingham Forest, are very much in the race for a play-off place.

Tomorrow, Easter Monday, the Hatters will be in South Wales, taking on a Cardiff City side, knowing three more points will be of enormous benefit in the hunt for that play-off place.

Ahead of the game, here at Vital Luton Town, we thought we’d take a look at how Cardiff’s season has gone.

The Welsh side have played 1 game fewer than Luton, with 41 fixtures completed.

Of those 41 fixtures they’ve won 14, drawn 7 and lost 20, scoring 48 goals and conceding 63, giving them a negative goal difference of -15.

In those 41 games they’ve amassed 49 points and lie in a lowly 17th place in the Championship table.

As far as current form goes, the Welsh side have a record that likes like thus – DWLWL, meaning they have taken 7 points out of the last 15 available.

When it comes to top scorers, we find that both Aden Flint and Rubin Colwill have 6 each to their names.

In the reciprocating fixture, back in November 2021, the game finished as below:

Luton Town 1 Cardiff City 2

with the Luton goal coming from Clark, revenge is on the cards.

Although Luton have a lengthening injury list, I reckon their desire, ambition and application will see them win this game, possibly by the odd goal in three.

But how do you see this one going?

Happy Easter MH. A win at Cardiff and at least four points from the Blackpool and Reading games meaning we finish fifth in the championship in my opinion. Winning our two play off games is it possible we could meet Notts Forest in the final at Wembley.
At long last a time to avenge the 2-1 Cup Final defeat at Wembley in 1959.

With no more injuries and some key players returning we really do have a chance what a wonderful outcome for the 2020 management team, Nathan Jones, his support team and a squad that have given everything.

its very easy to forget all the back room staff when we are on such an exciting run. all the little cogs are vital to run this club, even our friend alan, whose comments are always enlightening. the big thanks they are due should never be forgotten. lets look forward to a new stadium, and hopefully the premiership. it’s coming sooner or later, with good planning from 2020. keep enjoying the ride.COYH.

I can’t help feeling that with our record away at Cardiff and the probable loss of adebayo today along with suspension an injury list. A draw will be a very good result today.

The injury situation is so bad that if I ran a ‘NAME THE STARTING XI’ competition article, I’m not even sure Nathan Jones would win!

I cannot see it myself not with us in pole position a play off place in the offing. An Burnley likely Relegated. As I said he’s 1 of 3 on their wish list. An surely he won’t make the same mistake twice.
