Yesterday morning, ahead of the game against Coventry City, I probably was not alone in admitting I was nervous.
My pre-match article โ pre-match-nerves – summed up my fears that our six-game run without a win would be increased to seven with Coventry being in fine form and flying high in the Championship table.
Never in my wildest dreams did I expect the Hatters, with all their injury concerns, rack up a resounding 5-0 thrashing but, more importantly, produce such an exhilarating performance with everyone doing their bit.
Naturally, the performance has been well received by those who frequent social media:
Possibly the most complete Luton Town performance Iโve seen in a long while ๐คฉ #COYH

Indeed, it is great to see that the performance has lifted us up into ninth position in the table and, hopefully, we can produce something similar against Huddersfield Town, this Saturday.
But what was so different last night?
Has this comment summed it up perfectly?
And that's what happens when you put away your chances ๐ค๐งก

I reckon the confidence gained by that very early spot kick, expertly put away by Elijah Adebayo, lifted the confidence among those on the pitch and set the tone for a memorable win.
However, the praise for the Hatters performance has also been forthcoming from the Coventry City support who watched their side being dismantled in spectacular fashion:
Well done, absolutely battered us. Adebayo unplayable, cheers for the reaction to our fan as well. Good luck for season Hatters, been through the mill like us ๐

Fair play, best side weโve played in a very long time. Thank you for the help our fan received from your staff

Fair play Luton. That is what you call an absolutely spanking.
Best of luck going forward.

The bit that touched me was the mention of both our clubs having been through the mill, never a truer word spoken.
It is also good to see appreciation from the away support for the manner in which the gentleman who was taken ill was treated, we can confirm that the gentleman in question was taken to the Luton & Dunstable hospital and is recovering, we wish him well.
Next up, as we mentioned earlier, Huddersfield are the visitors to Kenilworth Road, this Saturday, let us hope we have not peaked too soon.
