The last 96 hours have seen several articles on Vital Luton Town related to Simon Sluga.

But, with my mind buzzing still, after the 1-0 win at Oakwell, I have a question for you all.
When it comes to nominating just who has been the best ever goalkeeper to play for Luton, who would be your choice?
Over the years, I have been privileged to witness a raft of keepers who have worn the famous jersey, such illustrious names as, alphabetical order:
• Milija Aleksic
• Keith Barber
• Dean Brill
• Alec Chamberlain
• Sandy Davie
• Kelvin Davis
• Andy Dibble
• Ian Feuer
• Jake Findlay
• Graham Horn
• Alan Judge
• Tony Read
• Les Sealey
• Simon Sluga
• Juergen Sommer
• Mark Tyler
to name just a few I consider to be the main contenders.
There is of course the legend that is
• Ron Baynham
to consider, a keeper I did not have the privilege to watch but of whom I have heard lots and someone some of you may have seen.
So, with quite a list to choose from, who would be the top three keepers you have seen play for Luton Town FC?
I’ll set the ball in motion by naming my three:
• 1 – Milija Aleksic
• 2 – Les Sealey
• 3 – Keith Barber
Please feel free to list your top 3 in the comment facility beneath this article.

Unfair really as many mentioned were top class an could have made it in the 3
a real teaser Chris 🙂
Everyone loves Les the legend…..
Most of you suffer from your youth!
I remember back as far as Bernard Streten, but my boyhood hero was Ron Baynham to me the best GK we have ever had.
Others I remember for their reliability were Colin Tinsley, Alec Chaimberlain and Elastic,
Good GKs command their area and give confidence to their defenders.
Best I’ve ever seen was when my mate took me to Chelsea, sat behind the goal, Petr Cech commanded his whole 18-yard area, directing defenders and claiming everything near him, outstanding he was.
Colin Tinsley was a good cricketer too, played with him and Terry Kelly for vauxhall when I was a mere 18 yr old….1979 to 1982…Colin was an opening batsman…..Terry was skipper….Good Times…
so are you a 1961 child, like myself?
Nov 1960…..just watched WBA v Sheffield utd their defending made ours look adequate…..think furlongs long throw needs to be watched by officials tho, his back foot looks like its well off the ground….
close, March 1961 for me 🙂
Sheffield United are, in my opinion, League 1 material!
Also WBA supporter passing him a towel to wipe the ball…..guess the away sides won’t get that service…..
doe’s that break the covid rules.COYH
did’nt tony read have a car sales on park road.?COYH.
He did, first it was in Park Street close to the Cock Pub and then, if I recall right, he moved down the road a bit to a bigger lot next to the entrance to Manor Park but still on Park Street
watched old footage of luton, 69 then 70.tony read in goal on you tube.forgot how good john ryan was,and my old fave, terry branston scoring a goal.needless to say, french placed a superb lob over the goalie, such a fine touch. supermac accelerating like a bugatti veron, forgot how quick he was. later on watched 14/15 season all the goals. picture and sound not to good, but the ruddock you all remember was playing, not bad,but luke gutteridge was head and shoulders above .ruddock looked taller, has he shrunk.COYH.
You can’t beat youtube for a few wonderful memories 🙂
