Luton – All Quiet On The Transfer Front

This time next week we’ll be entering the final stages of the January transfer window being open.

As usual, we’re expecting a mad rush as some clubs’ home in on their targets whilst others simply panic buy.

Here at Vital Luton Town, we are perfectly aware that, as described by Luton Today, that the gaffer, Rob Edwards, is looking at bringing in one or two signings, most probably a goalkeeper, a centre-back or both.

But what does cause me the most concern is last-ditch offers for players, bids we cannot ignore, moves that leave us little, or no time, to bring in a replacement.

So far, in this transfer window, rumours have been gathering momentum that James Bree could be on the move.

The first observations inferred, as reported by Vital Luton – premier-league-side-set-to-raid-luton-town-for-a-defender – with Fulham showing, reportedly, an interest.

However, the West London based club now seeming to be doing their utmost to sign Cedric Soares.

Sadly, for Luton supporters, another Premier League club – bree-wanted-by-former-hatters-boss-in-transfer-window-move – Southampton, managed by our former boss, Nathan Jones, are showing an interest.

Now whether Bree would move to a club that seem set to lose their Premier League status, come the end of the season, remains to be seen.

Perhaps the persuasive tongue of Nathan will tempt James south.

If the deal is to be done, all I hope for is that Luton receive a price comparable with his worth and that the deal is done before Rob Edwards is forced to scramble around for a last-gasp replacement before the window closes.

But do you believe Luton will lose Bree this transfer window?

Will James Bree Leave Luton This Transfer Window?

Morning mh, while I don’t expect bree to leave in the window I will say it may happen. But if what I hear becomes fact will be an exciting acquisition for us fans. That’s beside the obvious needs we all expect.

it will be difficult to get top players with our wage structure. i guess that when agents reveal wages wanted, you have to wave bye. agents are a bugbear of mine, just like leeches sucking the life out of you. COYH.
