Luton – Alfie Doughty Mini-Fact File

Yesterday, Monday, saw Luton Town FC officially announce their first signing of the summer.

It was something we picked up on pretty quickly by publishing the following – luton-make-first-move-in-transfer-market-and-sign-a-winger.

It’s fair to say that the transfer may have caught everyone by surprise, with no previous speculation reaching the media.

It’s also fair to say that I’m probably no alone in admitting I know very little about the player.

Therefore, it is, I feel, the ideal opportunity to welcome Alfie to our fine club by releasing one of our mini-fact file articles:

Name – Alfie Henry Harman Doughty

Place of Birth – Poplar, England

Date of Birth – 21-December-1999

Height – 6 feet 0 inches

Position – Midfielder / Winger

Youth Career – Charlton Athletic

Professional Career – Charlton Athletic, Kingstonian (loan), Bromley (loan), Stoke City, Cardiff City (loan), Luton Town

International Honours – Nil

Although in our reference to his signing, our source quoted Doughty as a winger, there appears to be an element of versatility surrounding the player with various sources suggesting he could slot in as an attacking left-back, that remains to be seen.

But I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing Alfie all the best at Kenilworth Road and may his time with us be very fruitful.

Morning mh, given njs previous interest in doughty. I suppose it isn’t a complete shock to me. And as usual our real targets seem to be cloaked in misinformation to newspapers lol. Hopefully he will rediscover his best form under our system an help push us upwards. Whatever his problems were at Stoke.

Let’s hope so Chris, after our impressive 2021/2022 season, we need to press on and not lose the momentum.
