Nathan Jones revamp of the Luton Town squad, ahead of the EFL 2021/2022 season, continues at a fair old pace.
Having, already, secured the services of Fred Onyedinma and Reece Burke, from Wycombe Wanderers and Hull City respectively, the The BBC that Jones vision of Luton’s future had persuaded the Motherwell midfielder, Allan Campbell, to join the Hatters.
It is a move that we speculated on back in April – luton-linked-with-scottish-midfielder – and again in May – luton-interest-in-scottish-midfielder-resurfaces – so, it is not a move that was totally unexpected.
As appears to be the norm these days, the size of any transfer fee and the length of the agreed contract remain undisclosed.
But Campbell joins Luton Town FC after spending his entire career at Motherwell having joined the Fir Park outfit when he was 10-years-of-age.
While at Motherwell, he made 160 appearances and scored on 16 occasions and appeared for the Scottish U21 side.
A tough tackling midfielder, I am hoping that Allan brings some bite to our midfield, something we could benefit from.
The signing has been well received by the Hatters faithful as the following social media posts illustrate:
BIG WELCOME Allan. Heard good things and look forward to seeing you play and develop 👏🏻 #COYH

With three new players now on board, things are starting to look good for Luton when it comes to the new season, Jones had added decent players to the core positions, and it will be interesting to see how everyone gels.
Could Nathan Jones, in recruiting Allan Campbell, have uncovered somebody who can emulate the feats of Tony Grealish or Brian Horton in that midfield position?
It remains to be seen.
