Le Roux Disappearance?

Harrow Borough manager David Howells seems unaware of the whereabouts of Luton’s French trialist Romain le Roux.

He played in Harrow’s 1-1 draw with Bromley on February 11th, and had not been seen by his manager as of the following Saturday night, having failed to appear for the team’s 2-1 home win against Chelmsford.

Howells told Harrow’s Official website:

‘It had been a strange week leading up to Saturday’s match with the disappearance of Romain Le Roux and Elliot Onochie.

‘I was very concerned about our preparation and the unexplained disappearance of two influential players but was pleased with my team’s determination and commitment and the way we played tactically.’

Regarding his Saturday Night Out With the team he went on:

‘Part of my work away from Harrow Boro FC involves Events Management and hosting parties in clubs and bars normally based in the West End.

‘On Saturday night I hosted two separate parties first at The Jewel Bar in Covent Garden followed by an after party at Suga Suga in Wardour Street.

‘I was delighted to see a full turn out from my first team squad.

‘The only unfortunate absentees were Keita Karamoko and the two players Romain Le Roux and Elliot Onochie who I have not been able to speak to since the Bromley match and appear to have been beamed up by Scotty.’

I can assure you it had nothing to do with me!

However, reading between the lines, Monsieur Le Roux has not endeared himself to his manager by his disappearing act, probably brought about by training with Luton prior to his incusion in the reserves line-up which beat Oxford United 6-1.

Le Roux’ stated intention is to achieve Football League status and perhaps he has placed all his eggs in the Luton basket, as he may well have burned his bridges with Harrow by his being awol.

Fortunately, he showed some deft touches and will probably be given further chances to impress hatters’ boss Mike Newell.

Must be something to do with being French! JLV went awol a couple of times.
