It is not the news we want to hear but it appears that it is news that we are going to have to cope with.

At the weekend, and following his withdrawal through injury in the fixture against West Ham United, I ran an article relating to Ross Barkley.

The article – midfielders-future-is-under-the-spotlight – with our relegation all but confirmed, asked whether we’d have the privilege of seEing Ross Barkley wearing a Hatters shirt in the EFL Championship, with the associated poll reading:

Will Ross Barkley Leave Luton Town This Summer?

With three options to choose from;

YES
NO
UNSURE

we had a clear majority when it came to your thoughts on the subject mater with a massive 64% of those that voted going for the YES option.

As for the remainder of the votes cast, 24% went for the NO option believing Ross will still be at Kenilworth Road for the 2024/2025 season in the EFL Championship. While the remaining 12% sat on the fence voting for UNSURE.

If Ross decides his future does lie elsewhere, my one hope is that he ends up at a club where his skills will be utilised regularly and not end up at a place where he’ll be nothing more than a bench warmer!

However, you can be assured that in the coming weeks we will cover any transfer speculation relating to the future of the player some have described as being the best ever to wear a Luton Town shirt.

  • Peter Scott says:

Why would Ross leave the hatters? We resurrected his career, we can afford to pay him a decent wage still next season particularly if well get rid of some players.

LTFC is a perfect project for him and he is guaranteed to play every game.

Unless of course he wants to go back to the North West.

He would help us bounce back to the Prem.

He will end up as a bench warmer at ManU sadly but on a much better salary. Would love him to stay but it won’t happen

  • Barry Steptoe says:

I think the reason he came to Luton Town was so he could football regularly and make a difference.
I don’t think that will have changed.
Just in case you read this Ross, PLEASE STAY.
