Consistency Is The Key For Luton Town As The Figures Prove

This Saturday, the Hatters continue their Championship programme with an away fixture against Huddersfield Town.

For Luton Town it is a second fixture in Yorkshire in a matter of days and the Hatters support will be hoping that their side can achieve a similar result to that achieved in midweek, when a solitary goal from James Collins, his fifth of the season, saw Luton narrowly beat Rotherham United.

Ahead of the game, the Hatters sit in ninth place in the Championship table, a respectable position considering the dramas of last season.

But, interestingly, since Nathan Jones returned to Kenilworth Road for a second spell, rescuing us from the clutches of a Graeme Jones regime that had relegation written all over it, consistency has been the buzz word.

Speaking to the media, following the win against Rotherham and as reported by The BBC, Nathan Jones pointed out:

“At the end of last season we picked up 16 from nine games and now it’s 16 from 10. So it shows we have been relatively consistent over 20 games.”

Now that is consistency and long may it continue.

Hi mh, yes at the moment we are seeing figures that say we are consistent. But it masks what is going on on the pitch. Our inability to score goals. I for one don’t care if we scrape 1-0 wins away but the lack of goals does the forest game was a prime example 2 points dropped in a game we had won an that’s not the first time it’s happened In those 20 games Alan and I have said before the start off the season we need a proven goal scorer to help the forward line. Hylton lua lua are not scoring enough an Lee is being used as a midfielder nombe is young an nj doesn’t look like he has the confidence in him to give him a chance. So let’s hope we get no more injuries up front

afternoon chaps, one thing that stands out when looking at the table is we are consistent in taking points from teams at the bottom of the table. All of our points have come from playing 6 of the current bottom 7, only dropping 2 points out of a maximum 18 points on offer against Forest.

As for Saturday it will be interesting to see who keeps their place in the side that won midweek. Berry looked sharp and should keep his place whilst KDH will surely come back in with Moncur making way, as for the rest who knows ?

Hi all, I dont anyone is hitting any consistency in this strange times. Hardly any side are playing well at home. Its gonna be a weird season all round just pick up points where we can….and as we are sitting 9th it is inevitable that we will pick up points off teams below us, there are some big clubs near the bottom tho, not many would have thought we would beat the likes of derby and Wednesday either.
