Although the lure of a better contract has seen George Pilkington depart Kenilworth Road to join Mansfield Town, Pilkington still reckons that Paul Buckle is the man to lead Luton back into the Football League.
It seems that Buckle impressed Pilkington when he took over from Gary Brabin with our ex-captain remarking in the local media,
“I hadn`t come across him before but I was very impressed with the hunger and the desire.”
“In my opinion he`s probably the strongest manager the club has had in four years there.”
“I think he`ll do a great job. I can`t say he`s going to go and win the league, you can`t say that with any club.”
“It`s a difficult league, not like League Two where there are three places.”
“Here, there`s only automatic and there`s only one or two surprises.”
“It`s a very tough division, but I`m definitely sure he`s the right man for the job.”
Going by the player`s he`s bought in, I`ll not argue with that.
