In what we hope will be a series with an element of longevity, depending upon your input, it’s time for me to step into the spotlight and name my best-ever XI from players I’ve seen wear our coveted shirt.
Until I sat down and started recalling names, I never quite realised what a task it would be.
I have a list of the names of players that didn’t make it, besides my laptop and there are some names on there I didn’t dream I’d ever leave out.
But as was the case with our first entry – a-best-ever-luton-town-xi-by-chris-winter
I opted for an eleven that I thought would best perform as a team.
I’ve also opted for a 4-4-2 formation with width added to the team by two full-backs who were more than confident when it came to pushing forward.
So, without much further ado, here is the XI I’ve opted for along with who I’ve chosen as my manager, please feel free to comment, criticise, lambaste or approve in the facility beneath this article:
Goalkeeper
• Tony Read
Defenders
• Kirk Stephens
• Paul Futcher
• Paul Price
• Mitchell Thomas
Midfield
• Tony Grealish
• Ricky Hill
• Bruce Rioch
• Lil Fuccillo
Forwards
• Malcolm MacDonald
• Paul Walsh
Manager
• David Pleat
If you wish to participate in this ongoing series, then simply drop your ‘Best-Ever XI’ into the comment facility beneath this article and I’ll do the rest and turn it into an article.
