When the team sheet was revealed for the fixture against Stoke City, last night, I probably wasn’t the only one to see Danny Hylton making the starting XI.
Our veteran striker hasn’t exactly been prolific when it comes to appearances for the Hatters this season and many, including myself, believed that he would be on his way in the recent January transfer window.
But, playing in the #10 role, Danny excelled last night, giving 110% and making a nuisance of himself as Luton homed in on all three points.
Of course, the icing on the cake was his perfectly taken goal, in the 56th minute, a goal that set us on our way to a deserved victory.
Danny certainly celebrated his goal in style and, hopefully, he’ll get a couple of more this season.
His performance certainly drew the accolades from those who frequent social media:
He was class tonight and what a finish 🤩😃

But it wouldn’t have been a classic Danny performance without the obligatory yellow card, and it came in the 88th minute when he was booked for excessively celebrating his goal.
You couldn’t make it up!
