That’s Certainly Put The Cat Among The Pigeons For The Luton Town Support

Well, I guess that’s all for now folks!

The inevitable has happened, COVID-19 has well and truly scuppered our plans for the next few weeks.

Today, it was announced that all EPL fixtures will be postponed until 03-April, courtesy of the government’s intention to halt the spread of the aforementioned virus.

It was something we feared would happen, particularly when you look at the measures already imposed by other countries.

But the big question remains is where will it all end?

The government has already stated the next phase of its plan is to delay the spread of the highly contagious virus.

If that is the case and their plan is effective, then you could ask whether come 03-April, the scenario will be worse than it is now when it comes to the number of reported cases.

Now I say reported cases because the latest advice offered by the government suggests people don’t phone 111 and ask for advice but seek help on the internet and only contact the medical services if they still have the symptoms after five days, which begs me to ask how are they going to continue to monitor its growth or decline.

We really are taking a giant leap into the unknown!

And, picking up on another point, with the Euro 2020 Championships fast approaching are we entering a scenario where they could well be axed in order to finish the 2019 / 2020 domestic seasons around Europe or are we set to see the 2019 / 2020 season declared null and void?

I certainly don’t know, and I suspect those in charge don’t either!
