And still (pardon the pun) new players arrive at Kenilworth Road.

The latest to do so is the Northampton midfielder Luke Gutteridge who has put pen-to-paper on a two year deal following his release by Northampton.

Gutteridge`s preferred position is to play in the centre of midfield and he has made over 400 appearances in the Football League.

It would appear that the signing was one just waiting to happen as we understand Gutteridge has been training with Luton since pre-season resumed.

Speaking about the acquisition of Gutteridge, Still remarked to the official site,

“Luke`s a player I identified some months ago and I am genuinely delighted to be able to bring him here.”

“He`s a very experienced professional, he`s won promotions and played in the Championship.”

“Geographically it`s ideal too as he was playing for Northampton last season and living locally.”

“I knew that his contract would expire at Northampton and was very keen to make sure he signed for us because I know what a good player he is.”

“His arrival means we have great competition in the midfield area – a real blend of youth and experience. I`m looking for the senior players – like Luke – to really lead by example, but I`m hoping the younger lads can really push on and put the senior boys under a bit of pressure.”

Another cog in the evolution of Project Luton I hope and in time honoured Vital Luton Town fashion we`d like to welcome Luke Gutteridge to Kenilworth Road and we hope your stay is fruitful.
