Middlesbrough (a)- Predicting The Outcome

Although the Hatters lost the epic FA Cup 5th round tie with Chelsea, the performance they gave endeared them to the nation.

Even in defeat there were huge positives to take from the game and despite the loss, I reckon confidence in the camp will be higher than ever.

Returning to Championship action, this weekend, Luton take on Middlesbrough having taken 15 points from the last 18 available, an achievement they should be proud of.

The Riverside Stadium is always a difficult place to visit, and the Hatters will have to be on top of their game to maintain that fine run of form.

But how does the Luton support see this fixture ending?

According to our poll, the majority, 44%, see it ending in a draw, a further 42% reckon the Hatters will win while a mere 14% predict a home win.

Elsewhere, the Sky Sports resident Championship expert, David Prutton, has trouble separating the teams, remarking:

“A mixed bag of a week for Middlesbrough. Defeat at Barnsley, followed by a fantastic FA Cup win over Tottenham in extra-time to march into the quarter-finals. They will want to keep that going here.

“Luton gave a brilliant account of themselves against Chelsea on Wednesday night, and there may be a few tired legs at the Riverside. I still expect goals, but I can’t split these sides. Score draw.”

Prutton is going for 2-2, I reckon Luton will win 2-1, let us see who will be proven to be correct.
