The sale of Harry Cornick, to Bristol City, on transfer deadline day, was a deal that many Luton fans had anticipated.
As we stated in our article – luton-sell-striker-on-transfer-deadline-day-to-bristol-city – Harry’s absence from the squad for the home fixture, against Cardiff City, told its own story.
The exact details of the deal are being kept under wraps, with that familiar term, undisclosed, describing any fee the Hatters may have received from the Ashton Gate based club.
Naturally, as one of the players who played a key role in establishing Luton Town as an EFL Championship club, his last-minute departure has created a raft of social media posts.
The majority are wishing Harry well in the next chapter of his career:
Thanks for all your hard work and goals Harry. Been with us on our journey up the leagues, always gave your all. Best of luck at Bristol City 👍

Brilliant servant to the club. Arrived a sub par winger for League Two and left a decent Championship striker. No matter what you think of him his commitment and growth has been incredible. So long and good luck to him!

Fantastic servant to the club, League two to a premier league promotion chasing player. Don't blame him to secure his future for his family. All the best Harry

This hit me harder now it’s official. Absolute superb servant to the club, and a huge part of our recent success. Thank you 🌽 🐶 🧡

I’d definitely agree with all the sentiments expressed above, but there are others who, it would appear, aren’t that bothered that Harry has left:
It isn’t sad he has served his purpose and isn’t at the level we need honestly not a striker never has been in my view. Good biz getting rid

Couldn’t finish his dinner so not sure he’s going to score many goals in a team that doesn’t really create. Bit of an odd one.

Puts the effort in but bang average. Will keep them up but that’s all.
All the best.

While I agree that it may well have been good business to sell Harry, what with his contract expiring in the summer and there being no indication he was going to put pen-to-paper on another, I don’t totally agree with the other posts and it’d be churlish not to say so.
Once again Harry, thanks for all you did for our cause and good luck in the future, I’m sure you’ll get a decent reception, from the Luton support, when our paths next cross.
