Transfer deadline day was always going to be tense and there was a feeling that with players coming in, there could be some leaving.

And that proved to be absolutely true with it being announced last night, by the Official Site that Harry Cornick had left Kenilworth Road, to join Bristol City, on a permanent deal.

Rumours had been rife, all day, that a deal could be on but when Cornick wasn’t included in the squad for the victory, against Cardiff City last night, we knew it was only a matter of time, something recognised by those who frequent social media@

The 27-year-old had been with Luton Town since arriving from Bournemouth back in 2017.

During his time with the club, he made 235 appearances and scored on 38 occasions.

My abiding memory of Harry will always be that wonderful goal he scored away to Leeds, a classy finish after a great run.

As is the norm these days, the fee Luton received for Harry, from Bristol City, is stated as ‘undisclosed’ no surprise there.

I can’t help thinking that the Hatters were forced into a sale what with Harry’s contract expiring this summer, better to receive a fee now than watch the player leave for nothing in the summer.

I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing Harry well in the next chapter of his career.

I’ve declared my favourite memory of Harry, please feel to drop yours into the comment facility beneath this article.

One other transfer seems to have slipped under the radar of fans. That of Ed mcjannet going to lecce. This in time could be a very valuable piece of business he’s never played first team football for us. But if he continues to progress we not only got a good fee but will earn much more in the future. Good luck Ed with your future career.

his goal at Leeds was a top draw finish, world class even, and his breakaway goal versus Chelsea in the cup was a quality finish.
I see he’s been given the No.9 shirt at Bristol City, so big expectations down there by the sound of it.

Best of luck and thanks HC
