As we continue our summer mini-series, relating to those who we consider might be under the microscope when it comes to staying, it’s time to feature a midfielder.
The player under the spotlight today is Luke Berry.
Last season, with the Hatters finishing a very respectable sixth position, in the Championship table, Berry made just the 10 Championship starts plus a further 3 from the bench.
When it comes to goals, Berry scored 6 from those 13 Championship appearances, a good goals per game ratio.
Sadly, his season was continually interrupted by injury, it would certainly have been interesting to see how a fully fit Berry could have influenced our season.
With seven summer signings made so far and with there being stiff competition for a place in the squad, could Berry’s injury record influence Nathan’s thinking or does he believe a fully fit Luke deserve a place in the starting XI and must be kept?

Morning mh, I feel luton play their most entertaining football with luke in the team also his goal to game ratio is excellent. I would want him to start this season if fully fit. An it would be up to the new players to force him out by showing what they can do.
No brainer for me really… Berry bleeds Luton and as CW pointed out adds a real element of danger and excitement when he plays.
